Sexual Misconduct Policy
It is the policy of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, Inc. of South Dakota to provide an environment that is free from sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, and sexual harassment as well as physical abuse.
The organization prohibits:
- Sexual abuse — the subjection of a child or vulnerable adult by any person responsible for their care to any sexual abuse, sexual molestation, or sexual exploitation that is a violation of South Dakota Code 26-8A-2.
- Sexual exploitation — any form of sexual interaction between adult and child whether initiated by either party.
- Sexual harassment — any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or sexually motivated physical contact.
- Any verbal or physical conduct or communication of a sexual nature that has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.
Failure to disclose information regarding previous allegations of physical or sexual abuse, harassment, or exploitation may be grounds for immediate termination. All reported incidents of sexual misconduct or physical abuse will be investigated.
